It's kind of like run up or shut up. Walk the Talk means that if you said you're gonna do something then do it keep your word because then your just all talk' but no action which is bad.

Do the reading

You need to do more than just read the chapters you are assigned- you’re expected to understand them thoroughly. Here are some tips:

1.       Don’t skim. Read all the material carefully.

2.       Break up difficult assignments into sections you can digest-chapters, substance.  

3.       Look up any words that you don’t understand.

a.       Pause to think about whether you understand the material; ask questions in class about anything that is unclear.
