How to Take on Collage Studying Part 2
How to Take
on Collage Studying
Part 2
Choose Where to Study:
Where you should study
depends on two factors: the environment in which you are best able to concentrate
and the type of work you are planning to do.
1.
The best places to study
have good light, a comfortable temperature and enough desks space-usually your
dorm room, your apartment or the library.
2.
For completing problem
sets or brainstorming possible test questions, you may want to study with a
group or at least in a setting where fellow students are available for discussion.
3.
When you are reading book
chapters or working on a research paper, you are probably better off in a
social environment.
Improve Your Study Habits
Here are simple steps you
can take to help you get a handle on studying:
1.
Have a routine for where
and when you study.
2.
Choose reasonable and
specific goals that you can accomplish for each study session.
3.
Do things that are harder
or require more intense thought at your most productive time of the day.
4.
Take breaks if you need
them so you don’t waste time looking at material but absorbing it.
5.
Get to know students whom
you respect and can study with or contact to ask questions.
6.
Keep up with the workload
and seek help when you need it.

7 Habits of Highly Successful Teens Habit 6
7 Habits
of Highly Successful Teens
Habit
6
Habit 6: Synergize is achieved when two or more people
work together to create something better than either cloud alone. Through this
habit, teens learn it doesn’t have to be “your way” or “my way” but rather a
better way, a higher way. Synergize allows teens to value differences and
better appreciate others. Synergize is the reward, the delicious fruit you’ll
taste as you get better at living the other habits, especially at thinking
Win-Win and seeking first to understand. Learning to synergize is like learning
to form V formations with others instead of trying to fly through life solo.
You’ll be amazed at how much faster and farther you’ll go. Synergize doesn’t
just happed. It’s a process. You have to get there. And the foundation of
getting there is: Learning to celebrate differences.
A good back is a greater
example of synergy. It’s not just the drums, or the guitar, or the sax, or the
vocalist, its all of the together that makes up the “sound”. Each
brand member brings his or her strength to the table to create something better
than each could alone. No instrument is more important than another, just
different.

7 Habits of Highly Successful Teens Habit 5 5. Seek First to Understand, and then to be Understood
7 Habits
of Highly Successful Teens
Habit 5
5. Seek
First to Understand, and then to be Understood
Because most people don’t listen very well, one of the great
frustrations in life is that many don’t feel understood. The habit will ensure
our teen learns the most
important communication skill there is: active learning.
Why is this habit
the key to communication? It’s because the deepest need of the human heart is
to be understood. Everyone wants to be respected and valued for who they are-a
unique, expose their soft middles unless they feel genuine love and understanding.
Once they feel it, however, they will tell you more than you may want to hear.
People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.
Listen with your
eyes, heart and ears. 7 percent of communication is contained in the words we
use. The rest comes from body language (53 percent) and how we say words, of
the tone and feeling reflected in our voice (40 percent). Most
people are eager to talk and had rather talk than listen. We have one mouth and
two ears. This means we should listen twice as much as we talk. Learn to listen
and listen and
learn. Listen, really listen, for understanding.
Seek first to
understand then to be understood—LISTEN.
CHOOSE
THE RIGHT!

Student Success Statement
“The only difference
between those who have failed and those who have succeeded lies in the difference
of their habits. Good habits are the key to all success. Bad habits are the
unlocked door to failure. Thus, the first law I will obey, which preceded all
others is –‘I will form good habits and become their slaves’. “
I think it means that if you fail in life then you will fail in everything. Many people who succeed will most likely succeed in everything because they put in the effort 100%.

Profile Of A Successful Student part 1
Profile of a Successful
Student part 1
A successful student …
…takes responsibility for his/her own learning Online
learning can be a powerful, simulating, engaging experience for the student
how can work and think independently. However, science most-if
not all-of the learning takes place on your own time, you will not have the
kind of direct supervision you would in a classroom. Online learning therefore
requires a significant commitment from you. All education come down to what
you’re willing to invest in the experience- this is particularly true in the
online environment. Commitment, self-discipline and self-motivation are all key
qualities to ensuring success in online course!
…is comfortable and confident with written
communication
Reading and writing are the basis of most online courses, so
it’s critical that you feel comfortable with this form of communication. While
some courses contain modules that include video or other activities, all of
them require significant amount of reading. And nearly all of your
communication with your classmates and your instructor will be in writing. If
these are weak areas for you, you will want to address those issues prior to
enrolling or while enrolled in an online course. The PSU writing center is available to assist you.

Successful students 7-8
7 . . . . Understand that actions affect learning. Successful
students know their personal behavior affect their feelings and emotions which
in turn can affect learning.
If you act in a certain way that normally produces particular
feelings, you will begin to experience those feelings. Act like you’re bored,
and you’ll become bored. Act like you’re disinterested, and you’ll become disinterested. So the
next time you have trouble concentrating in the classroom, “act” like an
interested person: lean forward, place your feet flat on the floor, maintain
eye contact with the professor, nod occasionally, take notes and ask questions.
Not only will you benefit directly from your actions, your classmates and
professor may also get more excited and enthusiastic.

Study For Multiple Exams part 3
English, math, foreign language tips: Practice –especially foreign language. It is hard to succeed in a foreign
language class if you are just showing and doing the work. But if you are in
your room and look at objects and try to say them in the language you are
learning it actually helps. Or if you send a simple text to a friend think
about it, you can translate that to German or Spanish? These are the little
things that will help.
Here are many final words of wisdom for students who get better
grades in college: time management and organization are critical key factors to
success in college. And never be afraid to go ask your teacher for help. They
have office hours for a reason-use them!

Study For Multiple Exams Part 1
STUDY FOR MULTIPLE EXAMS
PART 1
HOW I STUDY FOR MULTIPLE EXAMS,
DEAL WITH MULTIPLE PROJECTS: REALLY IT IS MY TIME MANAGEMENT THAT I EXPLAINED ABOVE. IF I SEE I HAVE MULTIPLE THINGS DUE OR STUDY FOR ALL AT THE SAME TIME I
SPREAD OUT MY TIME BEFOREHAND. FOR EXAMPLE IF I HAVE A TEST
MONDAY TEST THURSDAY AND 2 TEST
TUESDAY THEN I WILL STUDY FOR MY
MONDAY TEST THURSDAY AND PART OF FRIDAY AND PART OF SATURDAY , THEN MY SECOND TUESDAY TEST ON SATURDAY AS WELL
AND PART OF SUNDAY . THEN SUNDAY NIGHT I CAN REVIEW FOR MY MONDAY TEST BECAUSE
I AM READY STUDIED FOR IT. WHEN THAT TEST IS OVER I CAN BEGIN REVVING FOR THE
OTHER TESTS. MY OVERALL STUDY METHOD: I TRY TO BREAK IT UP OVER SEVERAL DAYS OR
AT LEAST TWO. I GET BOGGED DOWN IF I TRY TO PULL AN ALL NIGHER .HOW IV'E
OVERCOME AN INITIAL BAD GRADE : IF I REVIEWED A LOW GRADE I PROBABLY KNEW IT
WAS COMING BECAUSE I DIDN'T PREPARE PROPERLY OR I DIDN'T USE THE RIGHT STUDY
HABIT FOR THAT CLASS. I USUALLY TRY TO GO OVER WHAT I DID WRONG AND SOMETIMES
DISCUSS WITH THE TEACHER WHAT I CAN DO DIFFERENTLY ON THE NEXT EXAM OR WHAT THEY
SUGGEST I DO FOR STUDYING FOR THE NEXT EXAM.
CHOOSE
THE RIGHT!!!

Work Together part 2
English, math, foreign language: For math, all I can say is to do the problems assigned. It is the only way to practice and that’s really all it is for math. It’s the same for chemistry; if you do the practice problems you will understand the material so much better because those subjects are not just memorization like history, you need to be able to apply what you have learned in practical situations. As for English, I am no longer taking it, but I would say to leave yourself plenty of time to write essays and papers. They take time to get all the information out of your head and into the page, so don’t leave them until the last second.

Effective Study Methods part 1
Effective Study Methods
part 1
My test study method: When it comes time to study for the
test, I usually start 2-3 days before the test. I go through my notes and make
flashcards on what was important for those sections, paying special attention
to what the teacher said would be on the test if there was a review session
Repetition
is the law of learning: therefor, to learn and remember to recall, it is
mandatory that you repeat over and over the ting you desire to learn and
remember. You may be thinking, “Oh.no repeating something.” you need Also, I
would go through the book and read the inset stories and add to my flashcards.
If there are practice problems or online assignments or old test, I user those
to help me study for the test as.one the test is over, I keep the flash cards
so that i have them for the next test or for the final. Flash cards are a
marvelous learning tool. The key to remembering something is to…
Repetition is the law of learning:
therefor, to learn and remember, to recall, it is mandatory that you repeat
over and over the ting you desire to learn and remember. You may be thinking,
“Oh.no repeating something.” you need to get used to it. For example, the more
you practice a song. Learning and remembering is like playing the piano-the
more you practice saying or doing it the better you can remember it because you
have repeated it numerous times since first being exposed to it. So, practice rehearsing
those thing you desire to remember, and they will stick with you. Practice ---Proficiency---Pleasure.

Laura B.’s
Academic Success Story
In high school I was one of the good
students who didn’t really have to study to be a good student. The information
that I took for notes in class usually sunk in enough for me to be able to get
by on the tests by simply reviewing the material just before the class began.
It wasn’t that I didn’t try, I had a 4.0 all throughout high school, but I
never really had to put forth much of an effort to get the results that I wanted to see. In college however, that
changed. Not only did I start studying and reading the book, but I began to
understand that the little tiny facts is just as important as the general
concepts. My overall study method: I do the reading that is required for the
classes, and I try to keep up. If I do fall behind, I usually use the reading
that I did not get to as an additional study aid. I take good notes in class
and actually attend every class that I can. Sometimes, with volleyball, it’s
though because we are on the road a lot, but if I do miss class because of volleyball
I make sure that I get the notes from another student in the class. Also, for a
subject such as chemistry, I do practice problems to help me understand what
the material means.
Choose the right!!!!!!!!!!!!
